A UofT recognized campus group, the Argentine Tango Club offers classes, practicas, movie nights, and milongas (tango parties). The club was founded in the spring of 2000 to provide the novice dancer (esp. UofT students) with an informal, pressure-free environment in which to learn tango. We also welcome non-dancer members of the U of T community and their guests.

ILONA is an accomplished dancer, specializing in the improvised Social Argentine Tango style. She has a strong foundation in the traditional Close Embrace style of Tango but enjoys the creativity of Nuevo Tango. Inspired by different types of music she likes interpreting it through dance. See ILONA's website for more info.

Andy Kamienski is a teacher and Tango DJ based in Toronto. He travels extensively to Argentina and Europe to keep up with the latest refinements and styles of tango dancing. When not travelling, Andy runs a monthly milonga, or tango dance, in Toronto called TangoLoft. He is also a principal at www.ElAbrazo.ca, where students learn the style of tango preferred in Argentina, known as Close Embrace Tango.
